Kyiv Institute of Rehabilitation welcomes the Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations Future Ukraine fund as second major sponsor

The Kyiv Institute of Rehabilitation (KIR) is excited to announce that the Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations (AFUO) Future Ukraine fund has joined the United Ukraine Appeal (Australia) to become the second major sponsor supporting the hospital’s critical rehabilitation services for military and civilians injured as a result of Russian aggression against Ukraine.

Ms Kateryna Argyrou and Mr Stefan Romaniw, AFUO Co-Chairs, said today “We are very excited about our new partnership with KIR and the United Ukraine Appeal. Through our Future Ukraine fund we want to provide assistance and relief to Ukrainians impacted by Russia’s war against Ukraine and support them in re-establishing their lives and livelihoods.

“The medical assistance and rehabilitation provided by KIR has already helped hundreds of patients begin that journey. KIR is also actively involved in training specialist rehabilitation personnel from across Ukraine, so we know that our funding will help to expand the provision of medical services,” they added.

The AFUO is a peak body for 22 national Ukrainian community organisations throughout Australia. It is widely regarded as the representative voice on matters concerning the Ukrainian community in Australia, and liaises extensively with Australian Federal and State governments on matters relating to the Ukrainian community in Australia.

Member organisations include churches, state community organisations, youth and women’s organisations, credit co-operative movement, educational, returned service, language and other organisations.

The AFUO is a member of the Ukrainian World Congress, the peak body for Ukrainian organisations in the diaspora.
